Many truck owners like to stretch chassis for looks but many upgrade to haul certain types of freight such as steel beams, trusses, and poles. Tools needed for frame extension needed are a forklift, torch, plasma torch, grinders, jack stands, hydraulic jacks, magnetic drill press, welder, etc.. We only use the method of adding frame rail to the rear of the truck, unbolt complete suspension, roll it out of the way.
In the photo above we completed a 48" frame extension. We have made over 5000 frame extension over the last 20 years. We have made frame longer and shorter to modify for custom beds. We make custom trucks into dump trucks, water trucks, crane trucks, and flatbed trucks.
And then we attach new frame rails, which give us only one weld instead of two. We have stretched over 5000 trucks in the last 20 years. we feel so proud when we see one of our frame extension on the road. When frame extension is done correctly, it will last you a lifetime with no issues. Frame extension can also be done using the “Cut in the middle” technique which is relatively cheaper but we prefer the one weld method as it is more reliable and long lasting.
We remove all rear section of axles with suspension. This allows us the space need to drill out new holes. No holes are ever cut with the torch. We install grade 8 bolts with metal locknut. We install original cross-members. Whether truck has C Channel, 3 Piece Style, 5 Piece Style, Mack Style, or Long ribet cross-members. Cross-member are super important as they are the backbone of truck chassis. Drive-line angles need to be double checked. Swing by our shop anytime and see what projects we are working on.

The image above shows an image of a truck that got a Custom frame extension with custom color. Third Axle added in front in the tandem. This customer carries very heavy equipment so he needed an extra axle to help. We stock several used axles, valves, air fitting, and all control valves. We can also order a new axle.
