Once your in the shop for an oil change, we will check oil pressure before oil change and check for any check engine lights. We will ask driver which filter he wants checked and changed? Oil Filters, Air Filters, Fuel Filter, Water Filter, Crankcase Filter, Air Dryer Filter, Cab A/C Filter, so many options from several different brands. Depending on the engine, they can take from 10 to 14 gallons. A Cummins N14 will take 11 gallon, a Cummins M11 or ISM will take 10 gallons, but a Cummins ISX can take 14 gallons of engine oil. After work order is started, diesel mechanic will drain oil, remove oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, and inspect and clean all filter bases. During draining, diesel mechanic will note and advise if any metal particles are found in oil. After drain plug is inspected and installed. We fill every engine with it appropriate engine quantity of oil. After that all filter are installed. Engine is turned on, engine psi is checked and noted. During the complete grease job of a truck and/or trailer, mechanic will make a list of items that need to be address to ensure safe vehicles down the road. We have certain customer that do there oil changes every 10,000 and some other that run up to 25,000 miles. We have 1,000's of oil changes done in our shop.
